DIY | Gold Plated Dress Shoes

In a sea of tuxes at whatever holiday parties your going to, these Marc Jacob inspired Gold Plated Dress Shoes are going to be simply perfect to stand out in.

What You’ll Need

  • Metallic Tissue Paper
  • Scissors
  • Dress Shoes
  • Mod Podge Glue
  • Brush (to apply glue)

Start off by measuring your dress shoes heels height and length. Depending on your desired look, height and length of your heel, trim your Metallic Tissue Paper to expose an even amount of your dress shoes heel on all sides. **TIP: With an damp cloth wipe the heel and place your measured and cut Metallic Tissue Paper on your shoes heel, this will allow you to perfect your metallic accent before glueing it permanently.** Be sure to clean the heel of your dress shoe before applying Mod Podge, your glue adhesive. Once you’ve cut your Metallic Tissue Paper to your desired measurements, apply an even amount of Mod Podge to the heel of your dress shoe before placing your Metallic Tissue Paper on. Once you’ve applied your glue adhesive, center off your Metallic Tissue Paper smoothing out any wrinkles and aligning it evenly. Once your first coat of Mod Podge has dried apply another coat over top of your Metallic Tissue Paper and dress heel as a finishing sealant. Once your glue has dried stunt on em’ son! Hell, if you’re bold enough crash a holiday and tag me in your selfies, ahaha.
